Background
On the 21st of March, parents were told that Sprig Ludens nursery would be permanently closing without warning and without any notice. Parents were left with no childcare and staff were made redundant overnight. There was no consultation period for the staff pre closure and there was no public consultation with the community, with parents or with the wider community and we are campaigning to keep this absolute gem of a nursery open.
Our children have been thriving in the space, emotionally and physically and we can really see the benefits of outdoor play and children having free play all day which is purely child-led.
Our children have been learning so much about nature and come home with a wealth of knowledge about bugs, flowers, tress and plants and we would love for this nursery to continue to function so it can provide years of educational wealth.
The nursery has been running since 2018 where it has functioned as forest style nursery with incredible staff, many being former stakeholders who have used SYCT's services as youth and have stayed on as paid members of staff.
We are putting pressure on SYCT to involve the community in its decision making and to really listen to what the community want and need. Please support our campaign!
